Expand Your Mind By Adding These Practices
Give your mind the right environment. Cleaning up the body’s endocrinology will allow the mind to function at peak efficiency. The first step is eating the right foods and not eating for long periods of time. The brain thrives in the presence of ketones. Fasting creates these ketones as well as a high fat, moderate protein, low car diet. Creating the right atmosphere for superior brain function starts here.
Sleep is essential to brain function. Staying up late to watch the next episode can be enjoyable, but not at the cost of brain functionality. The body and brain need a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep a night. As all functions in the body, it can take a week or more for the benefits of a proper sleep cycle to manifest so staying true to a sleep cycle is important.
Watch less TV. Television has a way of mesmerizing the mind. Even watching documentaries can act as hypnosis of the mind. Turn the TV off and find other means of entertainment. Make the act of turning the TV on difficult. Unplug the TV and put the cables in a part of the house that is far away. Put a book or something interesting closer and see what happens.
The Hero’s Journey. Put something in your path. Find a task or goal that is important to you and make it your secret passion. Voluntarily adding difficulties and responsibilities to your life is a sure way to light up brain activity and give a sense of accomplishment. This is even more important as we age. Those who stay young in the mind, stay engaged in life journey through hardship.
Reading. It is well known that reading increases mental activity. Read for the enhancement of daily life. Even reading a small amount, 15 mins or so, will lead to an increase in mental capability. As reading becomes a habit, it will be easier to digest larger portions of books. Learning in this way is key to unlocking the mind.
Art. Art is a human invention. It is an expression of the intangible spirit inside human beings. Children are always experimenting with art. They pretend and express themselves fully through artistic forms. Their minds are constantly expanding in part because of this creativity. Keep your mind expanding by finding an artistic outlet like learning a musical instrument, painting, acting, sculpting, writing etc. Find the right outlet and release.
Meditation. Meditation is renown for expanding the experience of consciousness. It requires dedication and practice, but the benefits are impossible to measure. As mediation becomes a habit, the realization that this world is a product of the mind and thus malleable will be apparent. This is perhaps the most difficult and beneficial of all mental practices.
Exercise. Not only is exercise good for the body, but it is also essential to a healthy mind. The increase in blood flow and good hormones has a huge effect on brain chemistry. Furthermore, the difficulty of exercise will reveal, consciously or otherwise, that the only limits are the ones applied by your own mind. Break free from the mental by engaging the physical.

The Secret Ingredient For Body Composition Change & Mental Gains
Sleep is part of every animal on the planet. Sleep evolved as a method of taking advantage time unsuitable for searching for sustenance. Not all sleep cycles are the same. Some creatures are nocturnal, and others are diurnal, but they all sleep. Sleep is a time for rejuvenation of the mind and repair of the body.
It is essential to sleep the right amount at the correct times to maintain a healthy brain. Humans are diurnal, meaning they are awake during the day. The human brain has evolved to secret chemical based on the type and quality of light present in the environment. Humans were most successful hunting crepuscular creatures during dawn and dusk and thus evolved the sleep cycles to match.
The development of technologies that produce false lights have led to the growth of the waking periods for human beings. The further development of television, computers and smart devices have saturated the environment with blue lights that trigger waking chemicals in the human brain thus further disrupting the sleep cycle.
Studies have shown that people that sleep less than six hours a night are more susceptible to mental diseases and well as obesity and diabetes. The body uses sleep as a time to repair the mind and lesson hormones in the body like insulin and cortisol. If a different body composition is desired, a high fat, moderate protein, low car diet and a proper sleep cycle will do more than an exercise routine. Sleep is also used to solidify new knowledge learned during the day. Studying less and sleeping more will lead to more mental gains.
Sleeping is a lost art in first world culture. The high demands of work life led to late nights and last-minute emails. One of the best ways to get sleep back on track is to rise early regularly. This will lead to the body naturally fatiguing early in the evening. Turning off lights, computers, smart devices, and televisions at least twenty minutes before bed will lead to the release of sleep chemicals. There are blue light filter apps for smart devices that are great for removing the type of light harmful to sleep. Exercise, reading, and meditation are all ways to relax the mind right before bed.
Proper sleep is a practice. Add it to your life and watch the results.
The Secret Ingredient For Body Composition Change & Mental Gains
Cardiovascular training is one of the important fitness goals to overall health. At the start of most training program, the emphasis on cardio is misplaced as a means of changing body composition. Overtraining in cardio can be detrimental to initial gains as well as long lasting effect. To train properly, short burst of intense exercise is best.
Cardio can be tough on the body, especially the joints. Running in very hard on the body. Our ancestors most certainly only ran when chasing food or being chased. Some people are built for running while the average person benefits more from exercise like HIIT and speed rope. To train the cardiovascular system, short intense bursts are key.
The reason for this is simple. The focus of this type of exercise is the heart, lungs, and vascular system. These systems are autonomous (meaning they function in the background and require no direct action to occur). Unlike muscular training that requires focus to move a body part, the heart and accompanying organs, sustain their function without direct thought. These organs are constantly at work. They are beating and breathing when we sleep and go about the day. To make them stronger and more efficient, intense intervals, with rest periods in between, are the truest way to succeed in advancing their capabilities.
Here the focus will be on three types or cardiovascular training. First, but not most importantly, are running intervals. Max running distance will be capped at two miles and will consist or burst running with rest in-between. Second focus will be on HIIT. This type of training has gained recognition over the last decade for its amazing results and stability as an exercise routine. Third will be the speed rope. This exercise is the most energy demanding of all cardio. The speed rope can be great for travel or as an office-break-workout when time is in demand. A pair of shorts, sneakers and a speed rope are all that is needed.
As these practices and routines become solidified, cardio will be a pleasure to do. There will be no need to run a 5K every day to receive the benefits of cardio training. Running and training with that frequency will only lessen the heart and lung function, as well as damage joints that need to be maintained as we age.

Flexibility is one of the most important aspects of physical fitness, but perhaps the one that is most overlooked. Often stretching and flexibility exercises are the last part of a workout series and only consist of a few moves, for a few minutes. As the body ages, muscles become tighter along with ligaments, joins and tendons. Keeping these focal points in good health is a way to guarantee a body that is free of pain and capable now, and into the future.
Yoga is perhaps the most widely used form of active stretching. Yoga can be a difficult exercise to master but even the novice can appreciate the immediate benefits of this exercise. Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years and is still practiced worldwide by a large population. It deserves its place in an exercise routine. Yoga is especially useful because anyone, at any level of flexibility, can manipulate the tension in their program for maximum results.
Stretching programs are great for on-the-go as well. This can be done at the desk, or in the airport, with great ease. It requires at most a mat, at the least a rolled-up tee shirt. Incorporating stretching routines also give an advantage of having an exercise that can be done in between resistance training and cardio days for maximum recovery. Not all exercise has to be in the gym. Stretching can be done outside to take in the full human experience.
Along with Yoga, martial arts movements will be added for the power portion of the flexibility training. Everyone has a different stretching program, even those who follow the Yoga path will ultimately find their specific method. Here the power that stretching can add to life will be the goal. This is no ordinary stretching program. Learn to master the body. The results bleed into every aspect of life.

Alcohol has been around since recorded history and before. It is the oldest intoxicant known to man. There are ancient records showing alcohol used as payments for labor and services.
Alcohol has been used as a weapon in recent history to destroy the lives of Native Americans by white settlers. The familial and societal effects of alcohol have been well known. Americans tried to ban alcohol siting the same reasons above (prohibition).
Alcohol is the excrement called ethanol made by microscopic organisms. Alcohol occurs in nature and can be found in rotting fruits. It is easy to naturally ferment and with the invention of distilling, alcohol is concentrated.
An argument could be made that natural occurring rotting fruit might contain enough alcohol for an enjoyable experience but enough remaining sugars to impact a winter diet scarce in resources. The draw to alcohol is obvious in the scenario.
Alcohol is a widely accepted substance in culture. It is romanticized. Television is filled with people coming home and having a beer or glass of fine.

The effect on the body is substantial. The liver is the main organ used in the removal of alcohol from the body. Consistent usage of alcohol can lead to liver disease.
More than that, integrating a high fat diet means that the liver will need to be available for the processing of ketones. The liver will prioritize the removal of alcohol over the processing of fats for up to three days. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can happen because of this.
Alcohol usage has been linked to heart disease, liver disease, high blood pressure, cancer & birth defects.
Would giving alcohol to a child be acceptable? Why not?
There are plenty of alternatives to alcohol. If you live in an area where recreational marijuana is available, there are plenty of elixirs, tinctures, and tonics.
Edibles are a great way to consume THC without smoking.

To truly create a superior body, the diet and eating windows must be solidified. Hence, fasting and a high fat diet should be the focus of your daily routine. Resistance training will increase muscle quantity and quality. The better muscled function, the more mitochondria they contain. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the human body. The more a body has, the more energy it can supply.
Supply this energy in small amounts over a long period of time – Stamina.
Supply the same energy in larges amount over a short period of time – Power.
Resistance training is synonymous with charging a battery. The longer you train, the more power your muscles have. The more batteries, the more power. Hormones are largely affected by weight and resistance training. This type of training can increase sex hormones and decrease insulin levels. Sex hormones are responsible for many body processes. One such hormone is Testosterone. Both men and women need a stable amount of this chemical.
Dynamic training is required to keep muscle strength stable. The variety of exercises and resistance levels will ensure the body is ready for any situation. Even the internal, biochemical fights are benefited by this type of training. The immune system strengthens with resistance training. All weekly training programs will be centered around resistance training. Below are links that can take you to resistance basics as well as full videos for training at home.

Prepare large high fat meals that are repeatable
Having the proper diet is the only way to maintain the body composition and chemistry that will last a lifetime. It is increasingly hard to understand the correct information is a sea of consumerism.
Over the last fifty years, new meals and food pyramids have been pushed on the population for the sake of the bottom line. Unfortunately, these foods and proportions do not lead to a long, heathy life. Alas, that was not the goal of those pushing these ideas. Now the first world societies are suffering the consequences.
Here we focus on the right food that will maintain a lean, strong capable body for a lifetime. Above all, intermittent fasting is the key to resetting the body chemistry daily. Without intervals of abstinence from calories, the body is constantly producing insulin which leads to insulin resistance and ultimately diabetes. There is another side to that coin; muscle gain is practically impossible. This is because of the saturation of insulin in the body from constant food intake. Especially carbohydrates.
These recipes were designed to be simple, quick and produce large amounts of hardy foods that can be eaten over days. Food prep doesn’t have to be laborious. Simple, hardy foods last long on the countertop and refrigerator. The secret to eating healthy is the ability to prepare your own food quickly and repeatedly. Eating a high fat, moderate protein, low carbohydrate diet is essential in lowering body fat and gaining muscle mass.
Muscle mass will feed your body and mind mitochondrial energy that will keep you younger longer. “Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food” – Wise words from millennia ago.

We are all experiencing the world in the same way. Through The Hero’s Journey. This is an archetypal experience that is in every being on this planet. It is unavoidable. It connects us all. The human experience is a series of these journeys. Every religion, every mythos, every story, every superhero is the retelling of these events. It is a beautiful way to experience consciousness. Understanding this story and its importance is the key to a full life of adventures.
Taking advantage of The Hero’s Journey first takes understanding. See this journey in your everyday life. Notice what happens to you when you don’t have this journey. Notice in others the feeling of listlessness that can come from denying adversities in their lives. When we are younger, we make believe these journeys. We conjure them to express our built-in desires to be more than the sum of our parts. As we grow, these journeys have more roots in the world. Our action become apparent in the world. Adversity is around every corner.
As our lives unfold, we become methodical in our everyday. There is no more adventure to be had, it would seem. Even though we are experiencing life through The Hero’s Journey, we lack the self-imposed journeys. The challenges that come from a voluntary adversity. Here we focus on creating something worth striving for and dedicating ourselves to the task.
Ask nothing in return for doing this. Create a Secret Identity that is dedicated to the success of this journey. Do not tell anyone that does not need to know. This is your journey. Instilling this passion and creating adversities as well as goals will lend a feeling of accomplishment. Holding your head high with the knowledge that you are doing something for yourself, and you alone will radiate from you. Good is created this way. True good does not ask for applause. Good does not care if it is in first place. Neither will you. Train in these adversities and find the hero that resides in you.
Belief is the basis of human existence. We build our worlds with belief. For the most part, there is no real proof that anything we believe is true. We have vast amounts of shared beliefs. Money, religion, government, the fact that tomorrow will be better than today, are all beliefs that are widely held but are only backed by the sharing these beliefs.
As children, we are embedded with beliefs from a genetic perspective. We believe parents to be our protectors and that there is safety in groups. As the brain develops, these beliefs are expanded allowing the cultivation of personalities and abilities.
This accumulation of beliefs creates personalities. Belief in abilities lead to the cultivation of abilities through a repetition on belief, trial and failure, belief and so on. In our youth, we take these beliefs for granted. They are all around us as we grow. The bolstering of these beliefs into reality comes from proof thru repetition. We prove these beliefs to be true to ourselves thus solidifying them in our perspectives. As we age, we lose sight of this power. We become rigid in our beliefs about ourselves and the world.
Truth about the power of belief is lost as we age. Our adolescence is filled with uncertainty, and we believed our way into ourselves without ever understanding the power we hold. The power of belief is still at hand but as adults we must force belief back into our lives. Humans become rigid in their beliefs. Incorporating new beliefs through habit forming and proof through action will bring this power back into focus.
Many books have been written on the subject, some of those books will appear here. What is important to take away is that belief is just the beginning of making a reality. First you must fully believe in a goal. Believe in a new way of living or mindset. Next, set goals that can prove this belief to be true. Perhaps the belief needs to be modified based on feedback. Know that the more belief in a subject, the further you can carry yourself. Having a strong base in belief will keep your walls high in the face of adversity. Through belief, goal setting, trial and failure, the proof you need to make beliefs a reality will be revealed. This is the human condition. Powerful beings are made in this way.
